Even the staunchest Wildcat fan has to admit that our logo leaves something to be desired. I mean how hard is it really to modernize a school logo? We did it with our mascot, Dr. Wyle D Cat. Anyone remembers the first version of Dr. Wyle D Cat? I believe the phrase my pre-adolescent daughter would use would be “hot mess”. Today’s version of Dr. Wyle D Cat is among the best mascots in all of FCS.
Well it’s about time to update that dull sketch we call a logo. Apparently someone else agrees with me and is attempting to lead the charge. Check out the logo below. Now that’s a Wild looking Cat!
Ryan Lewis Named Among Top 10 FCS Linebackers by TSN
The Sports Network has began to look ahead to the upcoming 2011 FCS Football season. After last year’s 10-2 mark highlighted by a playoff appearance, the Wildcats are on everyone’s radar. The Wildcats return several notable stars from last season. TSN, the top coverage media outlet for FCS football, named their Top Ten FCS Linebackers on Friday, counting B-CU’s Ryan Lewis among them.
Joint Announcement by B-CU and FAMU Says Florida Classic Will Remain in Orlando Five More Years
President Dr. Trudie Kibbe Reed and Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Dr. James H. Ammons, in concert with the Florida Classic Consortium, announced Wednesday that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) has signed on to become the title sponsor for the annual Florida Classic and the Battle of the Bands. The Consortium also announced an extension of its contract with Florida Citrus Sports that will keep the game at Orlando’s Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium for the next five years.
